Our Golden and Silver

Coat Colours Explained

We are cat lover extraordinaire, we specialise in Breeding British Shorthair & British Longhair cats. The images above are all of our cats & kittens.

We breed the delightful shimmer of Shaded, Chinchilla Tipping & Ticked kittens in a beautiful range of specialised colours. We are the only breeders in the UK that offer the Shaded Tipped, Shell & Pointed in the full range of colours.

In the Silver & Golden Cats, the 'type' is characterised by colour at the tips of the hair. There are three types which include chinchilla, shaded and smoke, each recognised by the extent of the shading on individual hairs. What distinguishes these coats is that through breeding the colour of the coat has moved up to the tip of the fur and either the Gold fills the shaft of hair or no colour - leaving the White/Silver.

In the Pointed cats, they appear to have white coats (they are not genetically white cats) and they have blue eyes. Through breeding, we have removed the colour-point to near-invisible in the Silver and in the Golden, the only thing that is visible is a faint tone on their nose, paw pads, ears and tail. This makes them incredibly unique.

Within our Silver, Golden and Colour Point lines there are beautiful specialised colours, our colours are Chocolate, Lilac, Black, Blue & cinnamon. With different 'types' of markings: Ticked (Ta), Spotted (T) coat markings, which is the Tabby banding of colours on a cat’s fur.

This website has more information on striped, spotted and ticked cats.
