Preston’s Visit to Heathfield Primary School: A Purrfect Day of Joy

Preston (Pet name: Huggies), our beloved pet therapy cat, recently paid a special visit to Heathfield Primary School in Ayr, where he spent time with two Primary 6 pupils. The children were thrilled to meet Preston, and their excitement was palpable from the moment they saw him. They had the chance to cuddle, hold, and even push him around the school in his stroller, which brought smiles and laughter to everyone around.

It was heartwarming to witness the bond the children formed with Preston, as they chatted with their teachers and classmates about him. His calming presence not only brightened their day but also created a positive experience that brought the entire school community closer together. Seeing the big smiles and lively conversations unfold was incredibly rewarding and a reminder of the power of animals to lift spirits and bring joy.

A Calm and Comforting Session in the Quiet Room

Our session with Preston in the quiet room was all about creating a space of familiarity and relaxation. We wanted everyone to feel comfortable and happy, and Preston’s gentle nature made that easy. The children sat with him, sharing moments of quiet affection, which helped build a sense of calm. In this peaceful atmosphere, both pupils were able to fully enjoy their time with Preston, connecting with him in a way that felt soothing and reassuring. The experience was not just about interaction but also about creating a tranquil environment where everyone could feel safe and relaxed.
